Top Signs of Trouble in Third Grade

 

 Trouble is on the horizon for your child if he hasn't mastered basic reading and math skills 

 by the end of third grade.

 Any deficiencies in these areas must be fixed as soon as possible.
 Your child will have trouble if he/she isn't able to:

 Apply phonics rules in reading.

 Read high-frequency words. 

 Read third grade books and materials.

 Write complete sentences.

 Write legibly in cursive. 

 Write a story with a beginning, middle, and end.

 Solve two or three steps story problems in math.

 Add and subtract 2-digit and 3-digit numbers.

 Multiply 1-digit times 2-digit numbers.

 Tell time on a clock.

 Count money to one dollar. 

 Understand measurement (length, weight, and distance).
